Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
ok first off 3000k (yellow) is the brightest bulb temperature you can get. but they are illegal. another way to make your headlights brighter is to remove the lense and take out the metal thing that surounds the bulb, sorry cant remember the name of the part right now but it looks like you have already done that with those pics you posted. also one other thing you can do its called super charging your ballast i saw a video about it on youtube here is the link. Supercharging a Xentec HID ballast - YouTube but i think it only works with xentec ballasts and dont know how long they will last if you do this.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Yellow is not brighter than white.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
^^
this. 4300k is the brightest.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Do not remove the low beam shield unless you are going to retrofit. And you can use any HID bulb with any HID ballast, as long as they don't have some proprietary bs.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Ya i think i will leave the shield on it and i think we will get 4300k hid soon, right now we are trying to get HIDs for the new split fogs we just installed yesterday. The fogs dont turn on since of no switch but the HIDs will come with the relay so i can wire them with the parking lights to turn on.
When my bro and i unlocked the car the fogs come on, but thats the only time it does, not when we lock it or any other way, just when we unlock it. funny ya?

ok... lol you have a point there but for HID the higher the amount of lumens you have the less amount of usable light you have so therefore 3000k is brighter than the 4300k. google it!
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
You're still wrong. 3000 and 4300 actually have the same amount of usable lumens, however the yellow color makes 3000k less usable.
3000k HID color temperature and light temperatures explained for HID Xenon conversion kits
Take special note of the 4300

Special note: 4300k bulbs emit the maximum light output possible from HID type bulbs. Higher color temperatures emit fewer lumens.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
4300K is pure white, it has the highest usable light output. Anything lower or higher begins to weaken the light output. Taken from the link that stealth posted, 3000K are good for fog lights. The wave frequency of yellow light can cut through fog and other conditions better than a white. But doesn't offer the best light output.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
ok im wrong lol. but they both have 3200 usable lumes so can we call it a tie? haha

No, its all about usable BRIGHT light.

The 3k does help a lot and i think we are going to switch back to our 6k from our 8k until we get 4300k. Thanks everyone for the answers and especially for this link
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Hey anyone got a pic or vid on what 5000k low beams look? i was looking for a cool bright very white light, lots of people said that 4300k have yellow in them so i decided to order 5000k kensun hids bulbs. Also what should the bulbs look like and what color strip should the bulb have and how bright should it be.
Reason im asking is i got some defective bulbs and the are replacing them but the one bulb that seemed to work was not even that bright, my old 6000ks were brighter than the 5000ks. Shouldn't the 5000k be brighter than the 6000k right?
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
4300k does not have yellow in them, they have blue on warm up and then just pure white! I have now had 4300k fogs and now 3000k and the 4300k does have better light output in normal conditions but makes it quite bad when fog is present, with the 3000k you can see quite well through the fog. Hope that info helps a bit.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Well it does a bit but should i notice a the difference in brightness between the 6k i have now to the 5000k? Also should the 5000k be very close to pure white like much more whiter than the 6000k i got now?
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Yes, 5000k will be whiter than 6000k
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
id say the 4300k more depends on how cheap they are. i dont know how you guys see any yellow in them. ive never seen yellow on the 4300k in my old set and neither on the nissan z's witch have 4300k, the maximas actually run 5000k and so do most of the new acuras. you will see a bit of blue when the bulb is warmed up.
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
if you do have yellow in your 4300k HID's return them because its not supposed to be yellow lol
Re: What are the brightest hids low beams for 07 gp
Well thanks for the answers i look into my 5ks and how they look when they get here

OEM is still 4300k. You see blue in OEM setups because of the projectors.
