I decided to give the nightshades a try on my original 98 tails. They were looking a little rough and I just spent a bunch if money fixing the rockers, lower quarters, rear strut towers, and painting the whole car so new tails are not gonna happen right now. Especially with Christmas right around the corner.
I put the first coat on last night after prepping and drying. They looked pretty good but I plan on at least another coat and then clearing. I still have some clear left over from doing the car so I might just mix a little bit of that up and shoot them. The thought of putting the faded looking tails in with the rest of the car looking so good was disturbing!

I'll never tint tails again, after nearly being hit a million times.

    It's also overdone and boring.

A new set of OEM tails are like a hundo on EBay.

Much better than tinted, delaminated ones.

two coats is the sweet spot if you ask me. lights are still seen, tails are still red and reflective.

the jet black dont eve look good to me. and the lack of light output or reflective-ness is just unsafe.

Yeah, I would rather not get rear ended after doing all the work I just did to her.

I wish I could find one at a junk yard that had been well kept so I could get a few parts, but all of the GP's I have looked at are worse than mine as far as the interior. The only thing I really need is the driver side interior door skin cause mine is kinda messed up. Another thing I am having trouble finding is the steel rail that goes under the ground effects(the piece that more or less holds them on). Mine rusted out fairly bad around the part by the quarter panel. I might just have to fab something up I guess.

Well if one was to tint their tail lights, they are better off with this stuff. It doesn't look purple and allows more output as well.
