Well it was finally time to start the restoration on the rockers, and quarter panels. So far I've got the rear quarter taken care of, which turned out pretty decent considering i had to shape in the metal. Moneys tight so i bought a 4x3 sheet of sheet metal, and got a rough shape, got the lip bent into it, and filled the seams. right now its just got a rough rattle can spray on it until the whole car gets painted this summer, but I shaved the door trim as well. Here's some pics of the progress so far (anyone got any suggestions for paint? I like the black but im a big fan of white on these cars, and yellow crossed my mind as well, anyone ever seen a yellow gp?)

man yellow does look good on these cars, unique too. now ive got a decision to make, and dsmuts id love to, but everytime i finish something on mine another idea pops into my head haha. they really arent all that bad so far, ive got some box beams lined up for rockers, and i found a replacement panel for $60 each side. I also just got done putting in some turn signal mirrors, ill get some pics up later, not sure if i like the way they turned out but ill have pics up soon

well i got the blinker mirrors done, they turned out pretty well, and its a pretty simple design, just did it for fun really, no reasoning behind it.

It lights up the edges around the mirror kind of like a halo i guess you could call it

    here they are in action

yeah they were only 4 inch strips so it was hard to get the whole ring to light, and i wanted to use "amber" color so they wouldnt be illegal but im thinkin i might change up to a super white so theyd be brighter.

well i finally got the money to finish up the rockers, man was it bad when i got to pulling stuff apart. Only ended up costing me about $150 including the new rockers to do the whole project and im very happy with the way the first one has turned out, tommorow the driver sidegets done.

Had to pull the front fender off to do some patch work, anyone who does repairs their rockers and has the space should taske their doors off, it would make things MUCHH easier.

This is what I found when I got the ground effects pulled off, it was bad

Got my new rails and rocker panels undercoated, and ready to install

Heres a final product for the passenger side, the car is filthy from all the sanding and priming so its hard to see in this pic, il have more after other side is finished.

lol, if i wasnt so busy getting ready to leave for school, and trying to finish the gtp id help you out. It really isnt that difficult, not as much as I thought itd be anyways lol. and yeahi went with the ebay rockers, had to trim off about 10 inches for them to fit, but they fit very well, and they came two days after placing the order which was awesome.
