I've been looking at these as a replacement for my stock heads because the stocks are oxidized and very dim. I've been looking at these: SPYDER® - Black CCFL Halo Projector Headlights - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix Spyder CCFL Halo Projector Headlights but I know pretty much nothing about headlights, and I was just wondering what the difference is between CCFL and HID. I also can't find the bulb setup in these, but I hear Spyders use H1/9006. Any help is appreciated

CCFL and HID's are two different things.

Those projectors will use H1 Bulbs.

    Incorrect.

The bulbs are standard H1 bulbs, NOT HID bulbs. If you want HID's, you need to purchase those separately.

Sorry I phrased that bad I guess.
The lights would be hid's, the halo's are ccfl's.
    Just implying they're not vs.

Yeah I know they're two different things, but I don't know exactly how they stack up as far as brightness, color, etc. Also, the actual headlight just uses a standard halogen bulb? What would it take to convert it to HID?

HID's bulbs are extremely bright. You will like them more than halogen bulbs. Color ranges from basically anything. Google them and find what you like the best. To convert to HID's, you will need HID bulbs and ballasts. Go to DDMtuning.com or VVME.com to order some and pick out what you want.

Order from DDM, 100% plug and play. Buy the harness to.

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

    I got the 35w 5000k

Headlight is projector. Buy ^^ for the hid kit. CCFL isnt for headlights. Its cold cathold fluorescent lamps, think under body lights. They are for looks and nothing else.

^ Yeah I did know that much. I guess I was exaggerating when I said I know pretty much nothing on the subject. I was just clarifying that the H1 bulb used was a halogen bulb. But would a retrofit be necessary or would it be a relatively smooth installation?

Retrofit will give the car a more factory look with projectors, basically. It pretty much is personal preference. It's not that hard to do if you have the patience to do it.

Thanks for clearing all this up guys. When ordering from DDM, will I need the harness/error eliminator/adaptor cables?

I have the DDM kit... I didn't even bother installing the upgraded harnesses, and I have no problems whatsoever. It's a personal preference, but mine are just in the closet collecting dust.
