Do ppl here wax there cars? I am a huge fan of spending 4 hours on a saturday and totally cleaning out the car. Wash, wax, tire shine, vaccume, even carpet cleaning sometimes.

I had a Camaro for over 3 years before this car and that car loved wax! You would wax the hell out of it and it would look like a mirror!

My silver GTP on the other hand looks waxed after I washed it. I have tried waxing the rear end just for kicks and i notice no difference in appearance other than the feel of the car.

Anyone notice this? This car has a crazy clear coat i guess.

these cars have good paint from the factory. wax is best used as a sealant to keep the dirt and grime off of it.

How long have you had it? If you haven't had it for too long, the previous owner could have used a synthetic sealant. A lot of those will stay shiny for months.

Color also makes a huge difference. Silver seems a lot harder to get a deep shine than most colors. On the other hand, a good wax really makes Redfire Metallic come alive.

color of the vehicle, i think, has a big part in "looking" waxed!

Silver isn't affected as much by lot of waxes. Gotta drop some money on some carnauba wax to get it to really "pop". I used P21S carnauba wax and mine looked friggin awesome.

A wash, clay, wash, wax routing is mandatory, of course.

Waxing all depends on the wax that you use, and the way that you do it. When you wash the car thoroughly, then clay bar like a madman, and wax, ,the car will come out with a very deep gloss, and it looks amazing. On my car which is a White GTP, the wax I use is Formula 113, it is the best wax I have ever used, and well worth the expensive price. Also waxing simply protects your paint, so it should be done if you want that paint to last!
