I was out driving the other day when I saw a GT w/o a spoiler. I thought they were standard on the GT's and GTP's. Looked really naked without it. How common is it for a GT or GTP to not have one?

theres was a big thread about is that ended up getting locked, and yes they are even uglier with it
edit- http://www.grandprixforums.net/spoil...-gt-46356.html
It was either a 97 or an SE with GT badges.
We bought a 97 GT a few years ago and it did not have a factory rear spoiler and looked pretty bad- so yes it is possible. It seems 97s were the oddball year that a lot of things were an option and not standard with part of the trim package. It also has cloth interior and NO steering wheel controls (probably the only 97-03 GP I have ever seen without them) Most of the body panels have imperfections so the hood and trunk were the first to get scrapped and replaced.
^^Dave, my '98 GT has a spoiler...internal antenna...and no prop rod like tons of '97's seem to have...but it, along with yours...is a cloth interior with no steering wheel controls as well...stripped.
my honest to god question, why the fvcking hell does my 04 monte have similar options as 97-03 gps? come on chevy...why didnt you copy the 04+ gps yo!...
Why don't you ask that on a Monte forum. I'm sure they'd know.
it mostly just bugs me sometimes because sure my car is the same year as a 04 gp, but the gp looks so much more advanced...i guess i dont care that much because i love my car.
the lady across the street has a white 97-03 gt thast beaten to **** without a spoiler. and i know its a gt because it has the dual style exhaust
I didn't have one but then my car began its life as an SE.... I looked at a GTP tonight after work and it did not have the spoiler. It was the owners option (they showed the original paper work/window sticker to me since they were the only owners) at the time they ordered the car from the dealer if they wanted certain things on their car or not... This also included the spoiler not being installed.... Remember no matter how much you love the spoiler on the back of a GP ,someone else might hate the look just that much more....
only a mother (aka a first owner who deleted the option) could love that naked ass
