I made a trunk lid mat and did an engine cover makeover. I tried to keep it simple. Let me know what you think.

Pinstriping looks out of place on the edges of the engine cover but the trunk lit mat looks great. What did you use to stencil that?

The pin-stripes could be removed. I thought with the cover being black, the pin-stripes would help give some shape or form to it.

Looking Great. Sounds like a great DIY project to me. Then again, I bet you can make some cash selling those. Just saying.

I agree.. Trunk mat looks awesome =]. I like the pinstripe, but lose the striping around the oil fill area.

I see many replies about removing the pin-stripes from around the oil fill hole. I will take that into serious condition. Thanks.

I do not plan on leaving the cover on the car while operating. The cover is a heat trap and I recognize that fact. I plan on showing my car and will only place the cover in the car or near the engine compartment at the time of the show.

The mat was not difficult to make. I have the "blueprints" for making more of the exact style with that specific center decal (different colors could be used). The tedious part was just cutting out the shapes on the foam boards. The rest came easy. If I decide to make any other style or design for a mat, I would have to come through with different "blueprints" for those. Still not too difficult - just tedious......but fun!

    Dig the trunk lid cover.
Engine cover is not to my taste, but it's clean, and that's what matters.

I like the deck lid cover. Can you fasten it without drilling holes? I'm wanting something like that for protection more than anything else.

For my trunk lid mat, I am going to attach it with strong velcro. I am not going to drill holes or anything like that. I will simply find the spots on the back of the mat that make direct contact with the trunk lid and place velcro patches right at those points.

Good idea. Do you suppose the heat will affect the glue on the back side of the velcro?
