So I noticed a small spot on my fender where it had been nicked and someone simply put touchup over it... I can tell exactly what happened too some lower down or newer workers at the shop were probablly givien the task of fitting the hood since thats most likely a easy task for them, and they closed to hood when it was way off and the hinge hit the fender... and most likely they were afraid of getting yelled at or what not so they quickly put touch up over it....

I can't prove anything now since I didn't know untill after I picked the car up but it just upsets me that at a high end proffesional body shop where thay have all the stuff they need to fix something properly they just poorly put a dab of touch up over it...

I took pictures to send to some leagal people I'll upload them later, the only thing that makes me want to get lawyers and what not involved is that they chipped it pretty good and come winter I'm worrid about it getting bigger and bigger and then nexthing you know my whole fender is bare and then turns into rust

Hard to find good help these days.

I would keep everything going with your legal peoples and see what they say, but you might also send pics to the guy and explain your concerns to him. If he gets and attitude simply tell em you have sent the same documents to your lawyer and they will most likely be in touch.

Honestly the only reason I care about this is because I'm afraid of it getting worse. It really is very very small heck I didn't even notice it for a week plus but it looks like they might have taken it down to bare metal in the part that hit because it's not smooth at all I'll upload you guys the pics

If it was that bad then I imagine human error with equipment was to blame on that one. I only say this because the hood is fiberglass, fender is metal, if the hood hit it and chipped the paint, imagine the damage the hood would have suffered as well. Most likely someone hit it with the buffer or sander or something in the process of fitting and tried to touch it up.
Had this been the case, it needs to be sanded and smoothed and re-sprayed. Professionally and properly, since the car was in their car I think they need to fix it, but you gotta take that up with them.

storm in there, whip your dick out and smack em in the face... lol but in all honesty i would just go talk to him. im sure he knows youll be honest with him from paying him for the work. just tell him you noticed it nicked and want to know if he knows what happened and your concerns of it turning into something worse. im sure he will help you out regardless for nothing. its not a long and pain staking process to fix a little chip.
