Take them to an exhaust shop and have them weld them on for you.

Will it work since if they cut them, it isn't 2.25" anymore?

A professional exhaust shop will have everything needed to make the tips work. It should be as simple as dropping off of your car at the shop and picking it up with the new tips installed. I payed $40 for my tip installation on stock GP mufflers(im assuming thats what you have). Got it done in a couple hours.

I'll take your word for it but they're aftermarket mufflers and tips.
