tint them yes
vht niteshades no
you'll only **** yourself in the long run
There's nothing wrong with niteshades. I've had mine on my old tails for over a year and they look just as good as when I finished them. Just gotta keep them clean/wax them once in a while like you should be doing with your stock tails anyways..
If anything you could always just lightly wetsand and throw another coat of clear on. That's what I did to my 2 year old tails, and they look brand new again.
Can't wait for pictures
Sorry for the wait on the pictures.
Photobucket wasnt co-operating lol.
and I plan on putting a pair of stock tails on in the winter just to keep the LED tails nice and clean from salt etc.
and dont worry i will be continuing to wax them.

IN ADDITION:
They are still pretty bright and definetely good enough for day time. I will not get rear ended people :P LOL.
Reverse light is still clearly visible at night and LEDs are still probably brighter than 100% stock tails.
For a first time doin it, I think i did a damn good job lol. (Y)
turned out sweet man
I plan on doing this soon, as I have the same tails and my car is black. I won't go quiet as dark, just deaden the redness a bit
Looks good. Glad it turned out well!!
Stop off at crappy tire and get the smoked plate covers. :)
They look great man! Just a fyi, my state law is they need to be visible from 500ft, I still got pulled over for them (and a tinted license plate cover too....wtf) . I then went to a diff station and got a second opinion. They said that the light is restricted and if I got rear ended I could get sued big time, (they then went on to tell me stories about how ppl have actually gotten sued from tinted tail lights!! Needless to say im in the market for some nice stockers or some led's!
Looking good man... I think I'm gonna have to do my altezza's finally, how many coats did you do in all?
wetsand 2000 grit,
make sure its clean with rubbing alc or paint thinner,
first coat,
(the one guys instructions said to wetsand again)
so i did that,
then second coat,
then third coat.
If it looks like u have flint and crap all over your tails dont worry too much,
Clear Coat as many coats. i did like 5.
then very lightly wetsand to get off any lint crap. (if u dont have like any lint or dust, then its probably safe just to finish with ur final clear coat)
then clear again however many coats.
and then let it dry a bit and then put on a deece amount of wax and push really hard and then wipe it off.
I have the same tail lights and I am going to tint them once the car comes back out of the shop from being painted. You did a great job!
