I got my new Autometer Cobalt gauges from Lowlyfe and the Aeroforce I finally got. All in blue no less! And the Cobalt gauges ROCK in their LED Blue. But man are they costly!!! The sender unit for the Oil Pressure gauge is going to run me $102 bucks alone and another $25 for the cable from the sender to the unit. So for now it reads 100psi

Wow, those look nice James! If I could keep the GS I would have liked to run those. All carbon fiber and red on my GTP though. Thanks again. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Them are nice gauges for sure.

Are you going to change the rest of your dash lights and displays to blue now?

    I would.

I like the Cobalt gauges, but I'm going with the Autometer C2 series since all my other gauges have silver faces.

Geddy, I thought Autometer gauges came with the senders? I'm planning on getting a short sweep electric (full sweeps are highway robbery!!) and it comes with the sender.

I am going out to the garage now to hopefully complete a big part of that.

They do, but these were "third hand" gauges and I dont think the past two people had the sender either. Cause the last person who removed them from the car they bought that had them in it, found it was not even hooked up to anything.

Its no biggie, I will buy one in the coming month or so. But I know now why full sweeps are so bloody expensive. But the Cobalt's Blue LED is to die for!

Silver, you gotta hook me up with your guy who did a lot of your LED setup in your car. I think it was yours that had the dash and other parts done in blue LED's correct?

bbengineer (owner and operator of BBEngineering) did it. He also did my cluster and my HVAC controls. Top notch work.

I did my own switches and such with the exception of what BBE did for me.

Well I sent them an email. If you have contacts there? Maybe you can throw in a good word? I know their site only appears to do Chevy type vehicles, but maybe they will open up their doors the Pontiac side of life as well

    Thanks for the link Sir!

It's only run by one guy, and he is pretty open minded. I don't see where he'd have any problems doing it seeing how he knows more about our electrical systems than GM does.

He's also one of the two owners of the NAIOA, so he might see about keeping good relations.

Well I got an email from yesterday afternoon. He said with our GP's we do not need to do the customizing like you Chevy owners have to go through. He said you can simply slap in LEDs inplace of the current 194's already in the dash gauge. He did say he would like to look at a couple of our AC controllers to see what needs to be done to make them work. But I dont have an extra one at the moment.

I guess I will be hitting Ed Morad to see if he has one or two laying about

The only problem I have is the fact that there is a red film between the gauges to give it red glow. And somehow mixing a blue with red combo wont be the most eye pleasing. I guess I gotta find an old dash gauge and tear it down to see whats inside of it.

Honestly I could not really tell you why. I could have put it at the top I suppose, but I liked difference split of the two Cobalts. The boost gauge could not go anywhere else due to the length of the copper tubing, so that one is kinda permanent. The other two just wound up that way and I liked it

That's good that BBE is willing to look at it. Also great for your guys that you can just slap in bulbs.

For the red and blue issue, I think the red will be overpowering. I had to do the opposite on my old set up. I had white LEDs behind everything except the tach (and it glowed blue so you can tell how much blue tint the factory overlay is). I had red LEDs put behind the tach and it still glowed pretty red:

I like that well enough that's how I'm going to mount my gauges. Top to bottom - Pro Sport (green/white) IC temp>>Aeroforce>> Prosport (green/white) Fuel Pressure.
