Okay so on the 02 gt the metal piece holding the rocker molding is rusted out completely on both sides. it doesnt hold them in anymore. Should i get new ones or could i probably just use the 3m tape to hold them on

if the metal "ladder" underneath is rusted out, you need to replace that.. the side skirts are primarily held on with pressure from being inserted into that ladder unit.
tape wouldnt work as there is no where to tape too.

start looking at the wreckers for replacements. or online

If the ladders are rusted away you'll need to go to the local junk yard and snatch a set up... If the rockers are rusted you can buy a brand new set on ebay for cheap. You'll just have to have someone either cut the old metal off, weld the new rockers on or do it all your self if you've got the skill for it. Sometimes the rust gets underneath the car and towards the rear wheel wells .. Sometimes it also gets near the front of the rear wheel well itself.

To replace the rocker panels themselves on the car you'll have to remove the front fenders as well. I don't believe you'll need to remove the doors though but someone correct me if i'm wrong.
