Air horns are obnoxious. Especially when they wait until someone is just in front of the car then set it off.

Working in the field I do, you learn what decibel levels can be damaging to your ears, and that exceeds it.

The neon lights probably depends on the color. Most states have colors except for green and purple reserved for official vehicles so its illegal to use them.

With all these questions, did you just get done watching fast and the furious or something?

get the air horn, just have a seperate button for it then the steering wheel so its only used when its realy needed, like when your primary horn doesn't get other motorist attention

What Arch said is about right. Here in TN the only colors we frown upon is red or blue and even then we don't pay any attention unless they are flashing. One word of advise though... if you do it make sure the bar is not showing and just the glow of the light. Kinda like waving it in the officers face if you can see the bar. Either way illegal or not you will draw attention to yourself so plz be aware because it only takes "resonable suspicion" to pull you over lol.

My husband has train horns on his semi and I want to put them on our pick up. They are cool. Cars jack with him all the time!!! So they come in handy.
I know alot of people on here (my friends even) have neons. I think they are ricer. Red or Blue are illegal in Oklahoma, and you are not supposed to see the bulb. It has to be hidden.

I would find a local police officer and ask him the specifics on the law for neon lights. Be sure to get his name just in case. If you put neons on and according to that officer they are legal and you get in trouble for them, you can bring up that officer who told you the law in the first place.

Sounds like a good idea about the Officers name but it wont help much in court. Your best bet is to do an online search and find the the law. Should look like T.C.A. (Tenn Code Annotated) then number. If you do find it make a copy but don't even mention it to the officer that pulls you over. Just take that paper with you to court and in a polite manner just tell the judge that you did your research before and show him the code. only thing is some cities have ordinances that may ban neons. Anyways just do your homework if your really that worried about it. But I can promise you... if you d get pulled over and it is illegal you wont be wisked away to jail its just a small ticket.
