    it stays... there is a 2 wire plug going down the boot. have to disconnect it.

    I dont have a boot. all iv got is the steel shaft, and then the shift handle. I have a 96 gp. i should have waited to buy a 97
    Would you have any info on that?

    My GM catalog doesn't show the wiring or anything for the performance shift so it should stay with the handle, but I don't know how it runs or how to unplug it.

    Sorry.

    Maybe this might help, or at least give you something to look at :P
