aight guys i just bought and 04 gt. but the headlights are looking real bad. i know about all the tricks to polish them. Im a painter and i even tried to wetsand and buff them, but they are to far gone. I want to replace them but i wanted to see if anyone offered an aftermarket style before i put stock ones back in them. I havent been able to find anything, so i thought i would turn to you guys.

    thanks

The 97-03 headlights leak and condensation gather inside the lenses and that may be happening with yours.
Some people bake them to get them apart and then clean the inside but if you do that you need to seal then so you don't have the problem again.
I think you can upgrade your headlights if you want to go that way.

Mj, I might have a similar problem. I have an 04 gt and the headlights look horrible; almost as if there was a clear coat sprayed on them and the coat cracked like crazy. I'm not sure what the cracks are, but i swear it's as if it's some kind of clear coat.

Ya its a pretty common problem on thes things i dont know why. The plastics in the headlights are starting to seperate. I tried everything i know to fix these.( I've sat through 3M classes on buffing headlights)
I know that mine are past the point of no return. I cant find any aftermarket ones that i like so i think im going to replace mine with factory ones, and put some color matched eyelids on them.

ya that was another option for mine but i can stick my nail into the plastic. Im going to have to repalce them.

And on the 3m thing i've sat through prolly 20 classes, everything from bumper repair to buffing and polishing. its crazy i have to do one in a couple of weeks on the new waterborne paints.

Hey flip did you seperate those lenses and paint the inside. i did that to my cobalt when i had it i loved them i wasnt sure if you could do that to the gp lights or not

    Wow, those look amazing!

How do you do that? Or would a shop be able to do it? If so how much do you expect it to cost?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found instructions in the how to threads.
