i was wondering what you all would think about cutting the pontiac part out of the back bumper and put a trailer brake light behind the bumper and tap into the 3rd brake light so when i hit the braks and the light comes on it shines threw the cut out pontiac text and lights up

if i were to do something like that i would make it just a running light, not a brake light, that way its on all the time when you drive at night.

yup. but then you would need to box in the lights, and 2 sets of lights or 1157 and a red lens or something like that, sounds like some work, you don't want to see the light coming out from the bumper cover if ya know what i mean ..some kind of red led's would do the trick maybe. sounds like it would be cool to do but there will be some kind of fab work even after you cut the letters out.

I'd suggest against it. You'd need to seal it, cut it and then mod the bumper etc. Overall it would take a top notch body guy to make it look good.

I have some experience behind this kind of stuff. Here's a Bonneville rear tail light. After opening it up, removing a layer of plastic off the back and then painting the lettering back in.. you can light them up. But..it's not for everyone.

    Not my best pics..but hey..lol

And how you might look until you buy a face shield or sit a shop vac next to the dremel.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I have thought of doing this as well, but i would like another bumb to play with, keep my factory stuff nice just in case, and i would use and LED strip on neon light to light it up and make it a running light
