So my GP has been infected with rust bubbles underneath my gas tank door. I looked around and couldn't find any threads on it but what would be a good step by step process of sanding and repainting that spot? Last summer they were only little bubbles now they are starting to crack and rear their ugly red/orange heads. Eww.

you basically want to pay a pro to do it.

The lower the price, the worse quality it will probably be.

You basically need to strip the metal down till its bare then chemically treat it.

    then paint it.

its the painting that will be difficult because its not a small region.

as soon as I saw the thread title I told myself "under the gas door" lol. Mine are starting to develop there as well, probably gonna get them fixed when I get some other needed bodywork done as well.

just pay to do it right, if you dont get every speck of rust out and metal prep it will come back 10x faster

I thought the same thing. Mine did it too. I had it fixed along with a big scratch from where it got keyed for right around $400. The guy did a pretty good job.
