HIDs....auto lights?

So me and my buddy just installed my new 10K HID's today, he told me that he had to remove a fuse so that it disables the running lights I think so if I wanna drive with parking lights on or headlights on I have to turn the headlight switch to do so. So now when it is dark out, the headlamps don't come on automatically like the old ones do so my question is this....is there a way to make the light come on auto like how they were before?

Replace the fuse and unplug the DRL heat-sink. That's how mine are. They are off during the day, but once it gets dark, they still come on automatically.

To unplug it, open your driver's door all the way. There is a small access panel there; gently use a key or flathead to open the panel. There is a heat-sink in there on the left with a black plug and a blue retainer. Remove the retainer and unplug that connector and you will have automatic headlights, but no DRL's!

Sometimes, however, you must unbolt the bracket for the sink (in my case, the blue retainer was too stubborn even with 45* Needle Nose!) You can access it from below the dash. Easiest way is to move the seat all the way back and lay with your back on the floor with your feet outside the car and unbolt the bracket/slide sink off rail/remove clip/unplug/replace sink. The bracket is really close to the parking brake bracket.

makes no sense it should just work if u put the fuse back in? why wouldnt you want the DRL its manditory in canada if u get caught with out them its a fine! plus ur hids should last longer than regular halogens so no worrys there. it also looks nice all the time especcially ur deep blue 10k's

It does make sense. You don't want DRLs.

DRLs run your light during the day.. during the day your lights don't need full voltage going to them as opposed to night time driving.

Giving a ballast not the power that is needs = shortening the life of it and killing it eventually.

DRL's are not mandatory in the US.

You can turn on your HID's by simply flipping the headlight switch over a few times.
