Hi, ran into a bit of a problem i had* 2 nice blue 6000k hid lights now my driver side has gone purple, but my passenger side is still blue. Ive tinkered around with it a little checking for lose stuff but it all looks ok. Bottom line does it sound like i need a new bulb and or HID box? Does look kinda silly with 1 purple and 1 blue headlight lol. Thanks.

5000k nothing more or bust. Who wants blue headlights lol? 4300-5000k will be your most usable light!

If you aren't going to help the guy don't post, he did not ask for peoples opinions on what Kelvin rating produces the most usable light
I think you might have misread the original post because it says nothing even close to that

Now to the op... sorry but I can't really be of any help
I wouldn't have posted at all if it wasn't for the guy above me
Just stick around and I'm sure someone can come in here to help you out

Call the place were you got them from and see what the warranty is on them. Also you can pick up another set of just the bulbs cheap too. Sounds like the bulb has a crack in it some where.

Dead bulb, definitely not your ballast.
If you've recently installed your hid's then you shouldn't be experiencing that already, so I'd contact whoever you got them from.

If all else fails, the bulbs are the cheapest part.

If you have 1 pink and 1 purple headlight and both ballast/ign light then you have a bulb problem. You shouldn't have to make a thread to figure that out in the first place.

But really the problem's related to the kelvin range in the bulbs to begin with if you want my opinion, comprehend? Buy a new pair of $12 amp style bulbs because I'm sure that's what he's got, problem solved. Close thread!

It also depends on the quality of bulb too.. Obviously the better it is the less likely something like this will happen again

It all depends on the kit honestly.. I doubt any two kits are the same. Mine look whitish with a tint of blue in them.

The car came with the HID's so they have been running for well over a year. I kinda figured it would be the bulb but just wanted to make sure so its not hit and miss. Thanks.

HID bulbs color shift. Even the OEM ones do it. The cheap kit bulbs will color shift MUCH faster than OEM. It's not going to necessarily go out yet. You're mostly just losing brightness and going bluer.

Yeah changed em! Got some Hid 10000k bulbs now and like em alot better. I Can see alot more in the pitch black. My headlights are tinted which i think helps people from flashing highbeams at me and gives a nice royal blue light!
