Ya, it'll make them darker. 10000k bulbs are already pretty dim. This is gonna make it worse. Probably slightly less brightness than stock.
ohh ok... well my stock housings are looking like sh1t and im not gonna bother my time with that wipe on crap its too cold outside. Im lookin to upgrade but not sure if i wanna go for the whole halo projector cause i dont have the money. i was just gonna buy new stock housing. what should i go for regarding H.I.D.s?
Well if you want the maximum brightness, get either 4300k or 5000k. 4300 will be a warm white, OEM hid color, while 5000k will be pure white. If you want blue, get either 6000k or 8000k. The higher K you go the bluer the color gets, but also the dimmer the light gets. I recommend 5000k, but I prefer function over aesthetics.
I thought it was, the higher in K's you go, the brighter it gets.. cause 10,000K are a b1tch to look at.
And then the lower the K's, the more usable light.
Brightness =/= Usable light
From what I remember at least..b
Nope. 4300 has the brightest light. Higher ks seem brighter looking AT them because the blue light is harder on your eyes. The blue light emitted onto the road will wash out colors and make it actually harder to see, and it's dimmer as well.
That color chart is way off as far as hid lighting is concerned. This is much closer

How about 5k and 5k or even 6k and 5k if you want different colors but not 8 and 10.
idk man i jus want blue... but at the same time i want the best lighting i can get... tell me the numbers lol. and will i need a relays or anything or just plug and play 9007 and 880? i clearly dont know much about these
Yeah, dont order anything above 6000K unless you just want ricer looking lights.
I've got 6000k lowbeams, and they are slightly blue, looks cool, and put out good light.
My fogs are 5k, and are much brighter(more usable light)
So honestly, anyone thinking of 10k, you light output isnt going to be that good at all.
And yes, you can just swap out the bulb, and keep the same ballasts/wiring if you want to change the brightness/color
i love people that want higher kelvin ratings than 6000K. its so dumb because youre decreasing light output and it looks stupid having pink/purple lights.
- 6000K for ice blue, still very bright.
- 4300K for straight up white, brightest you can get.
- 3000K for yellow, id only use this in fogs.
those are the only three kelvin ratings i would ever buy for HIDs. dont be a ricer with pink headlights.
I got 10k for my headlights because I love the look, worst idea ever. With a little salt on the road you can't see the road or lines in the road what so ever. I got 2300k fogs just so I can see the lines in the road. I have a friend who bought 6k and once I drove his car it seems like 10k is not even HID with how much more I saw with his. As soon as I can get new HIDs the 10k will be gone along with the ricer yellow fogs. Id post a pic but trust me its rice
