On my drivers side the side skirt is coming off, one of my friends stepped on it when he was getting into the car. I know there are screws on each end by the wheel wells, but what holds the middle the the bottom of the car? Is it 2 phase tape or clips? Any help is always appreciated

Are you talking about the side skirt that is on the door or the lower portion of the skirt that covers the rocker panel? The upper portion can be reattached by thoroughly cleaning the door and side skirt (Goo gone works well) and some 3M double sided tape.

yea. mine was wrecked before i got it over a sign pole. and my lower skirt that covers the rocker panel is busted on the bottom and its bowed out in the front but you cant really tell at all. and all i did to fix it was take out the mud guard (right terminology?) and take out the screws and just reattach it. and as far as the skirt on the door. i tried to patch the part that was loose on the front with double sided tape twice. i ended up having to remove the whole thing. and break out a good putty knife and thoroughly scrape the actual skirt and the door, clean with gasoline, scrape more, used goof off, then rubbed alcohol everywhere. and re-attached it with 3m super strength double sided molding tape. hasnt come off since. ; )

Ya i was talking about the molding that goes on the rocker panel. I havent taken it off yet but it looks like there is a metal frame or something inside the molding and mine is all rusted. When my friend stepped on it the rusted frame broke where the clips attach

Just went through this with 98 GTP. If you pull the covers off there will be these metal support frames underneath. If they are in very poor condition (like mine were and it sounds like yours are) you may not be able to put the cover back on. I had a local shop weld in rocker panel repair sections and have been half halfheartedly looking for replacement brackets / frames / ladders as I have seen the referred to with no luck in the re-pop market. Only way I have found to get them new is from GM but you have to buy the cover also at +$400 per side. So that leaves scrap yards. Have tried a few with no luck.

If anyone knows an after market sources for this, would be a big help.

Got a pair from Morad - $100 to my door.
They let me in on "the secret," believe it or not, the two door brackets and 4 door brackets are exactly the same length.
The holes are not in the same place so you will have to do some mods, but I'm guessing if your brackets are shot, the mounting studs probably are also.
The guys at Morad are really great, have ordered several things from them with no issues.
Hope this help and good luck.

I'm after the sideskirt mouldings, not the rocker panels underneath. It looks like im going to have to get some of those aftermarket ones

Again Morad, they specialize in GM W cars, call them they may even have the same color (but harder to find with the 40th ed).
E-bay may also work for you.
