I want to figure out how to disable the DRLs in my car. It's an 07 Grand Prix GT SE. I'm getting some HIDs here soon and I know that if I was to leave the DRL on it would kill the ballasts and bulb because of the very low output.

I know that CTKGP09 has helped a couple people but I need pictures or something to help me along with the situation.

Any advice at all will be great and if there is a better solution I'll take any information!

    Thank you in advance.

can't disable the DRL, its hard wired into the pcm, so gonna have to avoid installing HID, I have the same year car and have never seen anybody able to do it.

Is there any way I could rewire the DRLs to my high beams? Has anyone tired this before on a 04+ grand prix?

Don't start messing with the OEM wiring because it's all controlled by the PCM, you DON'T wanna **** that up and have to buy a new PCM. I always just turn off the running lights. Additionally, I use a relay harness for the HID's and the relay that I use will run on the lower voltage from the DRL's so the ballasts are getting full power from the battery so they won't fry in the event that I forget to turn off the DRL's manually, which I frequently do.

I just keep my parking lights on at all times. They have a time out of 5 minutes after the car has been shut off. That way I don't have to worry about DRLs kicking on.

Doesn't that hurt the battery at all?

It automatically turns off after 5 minutes, and I've never had battery issues. Makes for a handy night light too.
