I'm still lost, what exactly happened?
She i guess was sold the car and told it was turbo go a plate filler or what not with turbo then found out it wasnt turbo
Something along those lines i think
Didn't check the car out before purchase?
i dont think id blame the mechanic. if ifollow correctly you brought the car to them to have it checked out before you bought it. if you just glance and look over a car looking for comon things like leaks, rust, condition of certain things, etc.. and notice the filler plate saying turbo and just assumeing it has one. granted, if i saw that i would think dang! this is turboed?!?!?! and then id look to see if it actually was not matter how little time i had. i think its an easy mistake to make if it had turbo vinyl badging
The filler plate didn't say turboed, she put turboed on there because she though it was turboed. Also, it's not even a Grand Prix filler plate, it's just a generic filler plate. Also, not everyone is car smart so a lot of people buy cars and listen to everything they are told. Just saying.
If they actually said "yeah, this car is turbocharged" and it's not, that is fraud.
If you saw the turbo "badge" or sticker or whatever and asked, and they said it was, or they wrote "TURBO" on the windshield and put it on the front of the lot that is fraud and you could contact an attorney. It would be best if you had an ad or some paperwork they wrote up stating turbocharged on it somewhere.
If you saw it and assumed, and it was never discussed during the sale I believe you are on your own.
Is the car at least supercharged...???
No, the guy that I bought it from said it was. Bottom line, I was gonna buy it anyway but what sucks is getting flamed for adding the front plate because I thought it was. Really, I am not looking to show off or say I have something I don't, thats why this whole thing is upsetting.
call the guy up and say ur having trouble with the turbo and ask him if he can show u where the turbo is
The only reason that you got "flamed" is because turbo'd GP's are kinda of interest on here, but things just weren't adding up, we had an imposter......cough IGoFast.....cough.....on here before, but since you were honest about the whole thing, it's all good. No worries.
It was an honest mistake we can appreciate that.. Still I would look into it with your seller. If they admit they are wrong try to get some money back!! Then you can use said money to put a turbo in and save yourself the vinyl swap
Still have the legal issue here. If what she says is true and he posted and gave her the full impression it was turbo there could be a case there. I dont know all the loop holes for selling something but if im right you cant lead someone to believe something is something its not
If she has an ad in physical writing from the seller saying the car is turbo, then yes there is a case.
Otherwise a few decals doesn't make the difference.
