Lets say like the example above 500 people participate. You get 500 dollars then you do your mod.. Most people that would get the money would up and leave and no longer participate. Even if all people after getting the money would still participate in the long run the 500 dollars you got would all be returned to the other forum members cause 500 people to give a dollar to mean 500 dollars. If you want to go with the argument that it would be once a month for just a dollar yea but then that means 500 months or over 41 years.. So just saying never would ever work even if we tried our hardest.

Let us choose the mods for the winner. Then the site administrator gets the money then gets the mods and the winner adds them to the car.

it has the potential to work out, but the waiting list is going to be super long and i think we would have to limit ourselves to smaller mods (<$500). this would not be able to include cams, intercoolers, etc. (high price items) and im not sure we would take into consideration visual mods since either they are dirt cheap or they are mega expensive.

but you gotta realize, $5 times 20 people is only $100. that isn't enough to do anything.

we would have to set up a list of more people or youd have to put down more money at once. you also would not have the ability to say 'no, i dont have the money right now for this' since you'd be hooked from the beginning.

this idea is good in theory, but im 100% sure it wouldn't work how we want it to.

i beg to differ. you could get some overlays from Reflective Concepts - thats less than a hundred. works, doesnt it? or someone might buy cheapo black headlights from ebay. someone might want exaust tips, theyre under 100$. hid kits are arround a 100$ too.

u never now. have a little faith.

What about soliciting sponsors (vendors? others?) for prizes in exchange for advertising exposure, we members could contribute an equal amount of $$ to the site to be eligible to win these "prizes". Could be a win for everybody.

Sponsors get advertising exposure and tax break.

Site gets expanded advertising revenue and member interest.

    Members get prizes!

    Well?

I know one thing a lot of sites do is have "Ad Posts" in threads. Every few posts down isn't a post but a dynamic advertisement. It'd be a bit annoying, but it really shouldn't harm us in any way...

idea as such will be so hard to organize through online. So i would only think there one way to go is sponsors or such.
