I was asked to share some pics of my 87 grand national resto in my introduction thread. I thought I'd post it up in this forum as it seems the most relevant.

Anyways 87 buick grand national. As most of you know it comes with a turbo 3.8l v6 from factory. rated somewhere around 260HP stock. simple bolt on get you massive gains from this black beauty.

Anyways picked mine up last year. took it to the track a couple of times and ran 11.9 as my best time. I'm not the most experienced driver out there and it forsure can launch a ton better but I was happy with that performance.

Winter came and I started to tear apart the interior. wanted to replace carpet, get the seats re done etc.. pulled out the carpet and the floor came with it.
completely rotten.

Previous owner undercoated it and didnt clean and prep the surface before applying and trapped all the grime/moisture underneath. It is a t-top car so that fed the fire for a while.

Heres some pics. its been a long journey finding nothing but surprises. Wheel wells were pretty bad. but we are through cutting and into replacing now!

Shes plenty dusty as you can imagine with the cutting grinding welding sweeping etc! not touching it and trying to keep "little' hands off as nothing good will come to the paint when hand meets metal shards meets paint.....

Repaired rear t-top rail

yet to be repaired front t-top rail

no rust on rockers or rear panels etc...
