I have a black 02 gp gt, and I was thinking about buying this hood, but I'm not sure how it would look, or if it fits properly.
What do you guys think about these??
    pls post pics.

    Thank you.

Good Gawd, is the SD hood not the baddest on the planet for the GP? does anyone know if this is the same hood offered on the Mecham Vitess? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

no, the F1 is the baddest hood for our cars, but for some stupid reason everyone goes ape crazy for the SD. everyone with an aftermarket hood has an SD.

Sorry, what's the difference in the two? How many different aftermarket hoods are available? What does an F1 look like, maybe I'm mixing them up. Do you have any pictures of the two? Yeah, I've owned my GP for 12+ years and still feel like a noob sometimes lol.

I had the SD hood on my 03 gtp. Fitment was good, but not perfect. I had to adjust the latch all the way up, and it was still hard to hook. The passenger side, i had to remove the hood shock so the hood would lay down properly and align with the fender.
Fosho99 has the f1 hood, which we picked up out of a barn in central Iowa. it had been sitting for several years, he painted it and it has good fitment. No fiberglass hood will be perfect, but with a good body shop, you can get them to look acceptable.

no, here is an F1 replica hood:

F.1 Style Grand Prix Ram Air Hood - Exterior Accessories

here is the original hood that is framed on a stock hood frame and will fit perfectly 100% of the time:

MPD, Inc. - F.1 Grand Prix Ram Air Hood

the MPD F1 hood is the best hood you can buy for our cars, quality wise.

Here is my SD hood. It fits pretty good. There is a slight dip on the passenger side near the windshield but you can't tell unless you really look. I've had the hood for 5 years now and have no issues with it. Personally, i think this is the best looking aftermarket hood for our cars. The F1 would be my next choice though.

no way, its perfect. it looks killer, out of everything I've done to my 2 GP's i get asked about and complimented on the hood the most. I just need to get my L67 engine built and put under that hood

That hood reminds me of the TA commercial where the TA pulls up behind another car at the light and revs the motor, when it pulls away it leaves the "remains" like it sucked it up through the hood and **** it out the exhaust.

I'm sorry.... but everyone is wrong. The Cowl hood is the best. It gives just enough touch to look good without going overboard or trying to hard. Just my opinion. Also the SD Air Dam and Spoiler are not needed as the Cowl Hood does all the work. SD hood without the Air Dam doesn't look as good imo.

Agreed. Is there any other pictures of the cowl hood or is it just that tiny one?

I like my SD. F1 is nice too, but they're pretty close in my opinion. I found an SD for sale locally so that's the one I picked out and it worked out great. I had to do some adjusting with the hood latch and had to raise up the fenders as well. Took some time to do, but it turned out great and I lined it up better than the way the body shop had it after they painted it.
