yea i mean im sure there not all the same. i tried adjusting them the best i can i moved the latch up as far as i could and the bumper down as far as i could as well. it made it a little better, i mean its not so bad but it doesn't shut so nicely i usually have to slam it and i hate it because its fiberglass.
This might sound stupid but does anyone know what size the bolts are for the SD hood where you mount your hinges to? I have a first production SD hood now but my stock hood mounting bolts do not fit this at all. Thanks in advance and for waking up this old thread
My stock bolts didnt fit either. Luckily I managed to scrape together a couple form my basement lol
Heres mine with some ugly old poo poo headlights..
I cut up some old alluminum siding in the shapes of the vents to keep snow/water out in the winter
And the underside is notched out from the previous owner, he was intercooled.
Hey guys I found some bolts that will work out. They are a 1/4x20 bolt. I had tried some bolts yesterday and none of them worked, even the 1/4x20 ones.. I took pictures of my hood (bolt threads/holes) and took them to my local body shop. The guy looked at the pics and said those appear to be 1/4 x 20 bolts. I told him I had tried these and that they didn't thread all the way in. He told me judging by the rust inside the threads that I was catching the rust and the bolt would get caught on it. The guy told me to go home and take wire brush(similar to one you'd use for a gun cleaning kit) and ream the holes out to get the rust off the threads, then take some grease and put a tiny bit on the threads of the bolt. Take the bolt and thread it into the hole by hand and when it stops take a wrench and spin the bolt in and out several times. Needless to say I did this and it worked great. I should have my hood on next Saturday sometime. I'm super stoked about this.
