Got my GTX hood from these guys straight as an arrow and perfect fit just had to adjust the hood latch a bit, took out the grills, loosened the screws on the latch closed the hod titghtened latch and done.

That is a pretty nice hood. What does a custom hood run for price wise and can he make a custom cowl hood for a 05 GTO?

I live in Maryland so it's not one hell of a drive to pick one up.

Should be on the driver side directly above the air box. With the GTXs they used a SLP Box that had a hole in the top and a seal around it so was fully functional to the box.

You'd have to look on yours but it should look something like this. Right side, mid point is the hole. Air follows the channel and come out thru that hole.

yeah i checked my under my hood and it looks just like that. This may be a dumb question so sorry if it is but shouldnt there still be a hole for air to flow through? cause mine doesnt have one it kinda of looks like it is painted over

Ya there should be a hole there, likely it was an aftermarket hood and either wasn't made right or the Previous Owner had it blocked and painted so it wouldn't leak water in on the air filter. I would take it to a body shop and have them look at it, might be easily fixable.

the only cool use that the ram air tunnel has is if you were to completely seal the intake to that hole and force all the air for the entire motor through the vents in the hood.

    however, it'd be crazy restrictive.

that hood scoop is to cool the intercooler on top of the motor. not for any kind of intake.

the SD hood is "ok" if i was to buy another hood i woulnt choose the SD hood.

    IMO

    Pros:
looks good with out a to aggressive look
lines up nice with the factory grills
    fitment is pretty good

    cons:
everyone who has an aftermarket hood gets one
stupid heat extractors let water into the engine
some start to get small spider cracks
the front of the hood closes a little to close to the bumper
