So I ordered some 5000k HID's today, my only question/concern is will it burn the bulbs out quicker from them "flashing" when I lock/unlock my doors? Should I just play it safe and rewire the flash to my parking or fog lights... or does it not matter?

Yes, you should rewire them. The flash will cause the bulbs to burn out quicker.

same here, i have been flashing mine alot also, dont really bother me, figure when they burn out they burn out, i would rather know i get 6 months out of the bulbs while flashing. but if you want to prevent half of the flashes just turn your brights on and manually turn on your lights when you want them on.

disable your DRL's for sure..they should only flash twice, when you hit the unlock and when you hit lock

Yeah I disabled my DRL's when I first got the car. I guess if no one has had any problems with the whole flash thing, I'll just keep it that way because I don't want to wire up something if I don't have to. But I might do it later on if I get bored.

as long as the bulbs are cheap it should be no issue, if you have cheapers like me you can also keep the brights on and it will prevent the lights from flashing and i do that to prevent the lock/unlock flash, but i dont care much about other flashes, bulbs are only 8 bucks and when they blow i will prolly just buy fogslights instead of headlights and relocate everything, and get a set of highlow beams or retro my headlights

do you guys have any idea how easy it is to disable that flashing when you (un)lock the car?

Pull the MALL PGM fuse, put the key in and turn to accessory then listen for the chimes. then push the lock on the key fob and it will ring to let you know which mode its in. Mode 1 is no headlights and no horn.

You can actually change quite a few things about how the car is setup if you just follow the directions in the manual.

I've got a question about disabling the DRL's.

When i pull my fuse, theres a very annoying buzzing noise whenever the parking brake is off (auto headlights attempting to turn on I assume).

    Ideas?

I'll take a pic for you, but on the drivers side of the dash that little cover that you can remove, it unplugs there, I circled it on the pic, but its a lil hard to see lol

mine is already unplugged but you can see where it plugs in at.

    Figured it out.

Already had that unplugged. Put the fuse back in and it went away. It was just the auto headlights that were coming on.

    Thanks though.

On my truck, the lock/unlock is wired to my HID's. Sometimes when they flash, only one will flash - when that happens only one of the headlights will turn on when I start my truck. I have checked all of the connections, but I remember reading in the manual that came with the kit "not to operate for less than 30 minutes" or some such bull****. No damage done so far, I sometimes just have to turn my lights off then back on to get them both on. Bulbs are cheap anyways ...

OK, so here's my deal. I got my wiring harness for my HID's today, and I'm confused.... I understand how it all works and plugs in and blah blah, BUT the kit has 1 9007 connector actually on it, and then it came with another 9007 connector that I guess somehow splices into something? but I can't figure out where... or do I just need the one 9007 connector? help!!!!

you sure it's just not for the other end? i mean ..
    headlight =|----- ballast -----|= switch
it would seem weird that they would send an extra connector. or am i misunderstanding completely?

what i need to figure out is how to get the car to stop rapidly flashing the lights when the car is put into gear. It does this to let me know a headlight is out. Thats because the 9007 harness uses only 1 factory headlamp connector. The other hangs out with nothing attached to it. This causes the car to act like a headlight is out and fires the hid on/of like 10 times whenever I put the car in gear unless I turn the lights on ahead of time.
This is for my pontiac sunfire
