    hey guys,

i'm the proud owner of a 2006 GP special edition....

love the car but i have one problem... i want fog lights... what will it take to add them?

do i need to get 2004+ fog lights from a junk yard?

i would like them to be on with my headlights, any ideas with wiring!!!

i dont need a switch, just on with headlights

    wow.... hmmm where to start???
i deff didn't know they made a 2006 special edition. bout to look it up.
and im not sure but u can probably wire them to your original head lights. my 2007 has a knob on the right and left blinker arm that when you turn it the fog lights come on.

You need a relay harness. The coil input (trigger) to the relay will connect to the headlight wire so when you turn on the headlights the fogs will come on as well.

If you're interested PM me and I can draw up a simple schematic.

this is what my car looks like, its is a base model but if you know anything at all, all 2006 base GP's are the same as a 2005 GT ... LOL no one likes to have the base model of any car... to me the car is loaded with every option, leather, sun roof, heated seats , XM... etc.... it just doesnt have fog lights? all i know is it sounds great looks good, and it was cheap compared to my land rover...

Here's the wiring you'll need to accomplish this:

    HARNESS^^

    FUSED CONNECTION TO BATTERY^^
This can be connected straight to the battery post but I connected mine to the remote post on the fuse block in the engine compartment.

CONNECTION TO TRIGGERED SOURCE i.e. HEADLAMP WIRE, PARKING LIGHT WIRE, etc.
You can control the fogs in a number of different ways. I prefer to use the parking lamps as a trigger with a switch but you can run it straight to the parking lamp or headlamp wires without a switch. The only negative is that the fogs would always come on with the parking lamps or headlights without a way to turn them off (short of removing the fuse). This is all a matter or preference. The red wire is the (+) trigger wire and the black wire is the (-) part of the relay coil. FYI, standard automotive relay pin connections are as follows: 30 fused source to battery, 87 normally closed contact that goes to the fog lights, 86 relay coil ground (-), and 85 relay coil (+) trigger.

    FOGLIGHT SOCKETS^^

I took these sockets off of the foglights and added new wires to them to integrate them into my new harness. I recrimped them and soldered them to ensure a good connection.

    WEATHERPROOF DISCONNECT (optional)
I added this disconnect to make it easier to run the wiring. I could run the relay side connections (battery, trigger wire) separately from the fog light connections for ease of installation. This is obviously not necessary but I had the parts just sitting in my garage so why not?
