So while i was messing with the car today, trying to find the power drop, etc, i got frustrated with the little LED for my aftermarket alarm. -- P/O didnt ever install it permanently anyplace. initiallyit was laying inside the left side dash cubby (sandwiched between the dash bezel and the cubby itself) which was kinda lame lookin. but then, after i did my HUD switch relocation mod, the left side cubby was no more, so the LED was just kinda hangin out right in front of the HUD switch =
so, what to do? hmmmm

wait! i've got it! Genius i tell you! See, i dont have the auto HVAC in the car, so i have no sunload sensor. Where does the sunload sensor go, you ask? up in the front of the dash on the little plate where the light sensor goes. the side that has the sunload sensor in it has a dummy LED sensor thing in there.
so i pull out the plate, and inspect. the dummy LED sensor thing just twists in place like the normal sunload sensor would, so i remove it. the alarm LED fits OK force fit into the now open hole, but i'm afraid that it will fall into the dash eventually....
so, hmmm what to do. Genius!!!! so i grab the dummy led sensor thing, and my dremel and cut off the very tip, leaving just enough room for the flange on the alarm LED to be press fit between the plate and fake sensor thing.
so then i have to stop... and think. the LED is on one end, wires attached of course, and the other end is down at the alarm brain with a plug. neither end is gonna fit through the hollow hole in this fake sensor thing. gaaah i dont want to cut the wires. ---- Genius!!!! grab my trusty dremel and cut a slit in the fake sensor thing, slip the wires through and.... GAHHH the led is too big. soo, remove wires, and get out gerber multitool knife (my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TOOL... IT GOES EVERYWHERE WITH ME) and ream out the hole inside the fake sensor thing, and voila the LED is nice and snug not going anywhere. so i disassemble once more to fish the LED up into the front of the dash.... in the process breaking my long neck grabber thing. reassemble dremeled fake sensor blank thing to LED, assemble this to the plate, reattach light sensor, and put back into dash.... VOILA looks factory!!!!!
