my friend just bought a new gtp, and both headlights dont sit flush with the center part (the part with the pontiac logo), they stick out a little. im pretty sure it has new capsules because they are gray, and they should be black so that could have something to do with it. is there any way to adjust this?

Do they bounce? Can you move the headlights around with your hand? Maybe the tab in the back isn't seated correctly. That could cause them to stick out.

oh this isnt for me, its for my friends car i have tinted stockers that fit just fine. and believe me mine is blacked out! its like the batmobile...

they do bounce a little bit, and we couldnt seem to get the rear mounting tab to slip in i dont think. but i still dont think it would cause it to stick out that much...

That mounting tab is what holds the light secure and in place. If it isn't in all the way or at all then it is entirely possible that your lights won't sit flush.

There's both horizontal and vertical adjustment. There are two E-8 (IIRC) Torx screws (6-point star shaped) on top of the headlight.

This is how mine were shipped to me. You can see how the horizontal alignment is maxed out in this picture. That will result in the huge gaps you describe.

Any time you get new headlights, you want to aim them. You can attempt it yourself (it's a lot easier on projectors because of the sharp cutoff), but it's probably better to take it to a shop.
