Honestly, nothing worth mentioning. You may hear a slight change, but then again it could all be in your head.

What is the trick to removing the stock tips? Two of us worked on them tonight for about 2 hours - worked on one, actually. It's loose and flops all around but will not come out of the muffler. I cut the clamp off and have bent the flanges on the muffler back a little.

yeah, we worked and worked at it, twisting, pulling, flopping up and down and side to side. We put a pipe wrench on it and locked the jaws down and slammed on it with a 10lb. mini sledge also to no avail. Then we went to the 20lb. sledge and still no joy. It's really starting to get irritating. I'll work at it a little this morning maybe or maybe tomorrow. I was really hoping there was some sort of trick to it that we were missing on the first attempt.

I bought some new tips.. and planned to take the old ones off and put the new ones on myself..

Well.. I came on here and read the same thing these guys told you to get them off.. After working at them for hours with one other person(having used many methods I hear you saying you tried) we had them to the point where we could move them side to side.. but they felt like there was no way they were coming out.. I felt like I was going to rip out my entire exhaust if I tried any harder.

Next day, I said "oh well" and went to a shop, and had them do it.. Here they are..

Those look really nice! I was telling myself the same thing today, that I'd have been better off to take them and pay our local exhaust guy to take care if it for me.

I spent about 15 additional minutes on the one today and it came out and then about 45 mins. to an hour on the second one and got it out also. The problem was the same on both - the clamp was crimped down so tight from the factory that it had greatly distorted the steel flange into the cast aluminum tip. The cast tip was actually crimped so much that it was cracked at the clamp and was "belled" inward. That was the reason I could move it all around, but it wouldn't slip out. I ended up taking a chisel and hammered it down two of the four existing slits that form the flange sticking out of the muffler. Then I peeled them back with a pry bar, continued to work the tip around and it eventually came out.

Next part is that the tips I got from PFYC that are supposed to be for our GP cars are NO WHERE near ready to fit. I'm going to have to go to our local exhaust guy I mentioned earlier and have him make me some adapters to make these fit. I'm pretty disappointed in these since they were to be specifically for our cars. I figured I'd have much less hassle in these than with something else. The muffler outlet appears to be about 2 1/4" ID on the outlet. Does that sound about right? The tips I have are 2 1/2" on the inlet side.

Cody, how much did it cost to get them put on?

And Snow, I'm pretty sure our cars use 2 1/2". I would be wrong, but is it possible that they're aftermarket mufflers?

Labor rate there is $90/hr.. It took them half an hour, so $45..
My tips were supposed to be the right size, but something was wrong, because they weren't going to match up right.. so they had to make up some adapters to make them work.. so the cost for labor ($45), plus the adapters and clamps (around $30), means I paid about $75 in the end.

These are the exact tips I got for my car off E-Bay. They definitely have to be welded on but I think they look a thousand times better than the stock ones, imo. The slight offset angle on the pipes looks really nice with the rear fascia.

I nearly bought those, but wasn't sure they would work out with the inlet different in size from the ones on PFYC. I guess I was wrong. I think the mufflers are factory, so maybe I'm off on the size, too. The outlet port is not perfect.

    ARFF22, nice!
