I bought a kit from someone else and plug it in and nothing. changed the wires around in the harness like black in black did and nothing. i emailed them and they said to try all 3 wires in each lead.... That just scares me i ithink they going back and waiting for capsules.

I am a firm believer that you should not have to fix a new product you buy, maybe if everyone returned them instead of fixing their bad engineering they would either fix it or close up shop and let someone else sell them

I have a kit from Hahn at 3bspecialties.com and couldn't be happier. In my mind you can't beat 130 shipped overnight for a true plug and play.

    BackinBlack --

i'm in contact with a seller that claims to have the 9007 tilter style bulbs... i know it's a long shot, but here's a pic of the bulbs he has... they dont look like the 9007-3's in your huge HID thread either.... hmmmm.... thoughts?

... i emailed the seller the animated GIF i had of the tilting bulb, and the seller verified that is the style of the bixenon movement.... i may regret it, but i think im gonna order a set

    Hey Toasty,

As you have seen on the Group Buy that I posted, the kit I found is NOT the tilt style. I waited until I had confirmation back from David before I posted, and low and behold I guess tilt means in and out in Japan. I have corrected the Group Buy post with all the info and based on the information in this thread, the regular Xenon looks like a good deal, however the Bi-Xenon will probably not work. With that said, I was wondering if we could get some more info from BackInBlack.

    BackInBlack,

Could you post up some specific information as to why certain "Bi-Xenon" kits work or wont work just for information purposes? The kits I know of that are available are:

    Tilt
    Telescopic
    4 balast 2 bulbs

9007-1: Single xenon arc tube, does not tilt or retract. Turns OFF with the high beams unless you modify some car wiring. (I did a separate thread about this)

9007-2: Single xenon arc tube, does not tilt or retract, has additional halogen bulb beside it to act as high beams. High beam halogen is useless.

9007-3: Single xenon arc tube, retracts (telescopic and useless) or tilts between the low and high positions to simulate the two different tungsten filaments in the traditional 9007 bulb.

Bi-Xenon: TWO xenon arc tubes per assembly, one for low beams, one for high. Requires FOUR ballasts to operate, and may require wiring modifications to work correctly. High beam is useless.

With a reflector headlamp design, it ALL boils down to precise arc placement. Period.

    VVME best? NFW.

Everyone is "best" when you buy something and it works as expected. After the sale, VVME is done. Period. BTW, I think this is true for most the EBAY HID sellers, not just VVME. If you can find one that not only says they have a warehouse in the US , but also replies to your emails in English, not broken/translated ..you may have something. .... they are out there.

there's gettin to be too many HID threads here too... lol

i meant to post this up over here instead of the other hid thread, but oh well:

i have to take it with a grain of salt because we know how well ebay sellers can understand sometimes, but the ebay seller i am dealing with has repeatedly stated that the 9007 kit he has is the tilting, the only telescopic kit he has is for the H4 style bulbs only. I also sent him animated gif's of both the tilting and telescopic kind, and verified tilting that way as well.

i think im gonna order a set

Good luck. I ordered from VVME, the tilting units they advertised. I added text in the ebay/paypal purchase specifying tilting. They shipped telescopic. They would accept a return, but I had to pay the shipping (their shipping prices not fedex/UPS etc) and they would only honor a warranty claim when they found them defective. They refused (yes, refused) to understand they shipped the wrong part. You will also find you have no recourse through EBay/Paypal.

There are some tilting unit out there. In my adventure I have been informed tilting units they are "old school" and replaced by telescopic models to to high failure rates. But, thats only what I heard, I have never personally seen a tilter.

I share this not to scare or keep you from purchasing, but to make sure folks are disillusioned that they have options after the paypal in confirmed.

That typed, while I grumble about this adventure, I do have lamps that work, with beams on low and high. Yes, the high could be sharper and may be when the winter ends. and they are Bright!

Even if you get telescopics, all is not lost. between this forum and CGP, you have the information needed to get them close to right. And honestly, if you know what a dremel is and what end to hold, it's perhaps a two hr job to mod them.

yeah, i know it's a gamble... but this guy does at least speak good enough english --- and i showed him pictures.

plus, unless something is wrong with his pictures (not the canned hid in box pics that are rampant on ebay) the 9007 bulb doesnt look like the other telescopics i have seen.... ---though they're only available in 6000 or 8000. i'd like them better if they were 4300 or 5000 but i think the 6000 will be OK

Hey, go for it! Now, since you have interacted it is your responsibility to measure the arc distance the same as BnB has detailed and range of motion. Followed by beam shots from a distance of about 30ft and some long shots down a road.... if they work well, your data would end much of this discussion.

    look forward to the images!

    well, i ordered a set. $130 shipped

not super price, but if they're right, that's not bad. if i watched ebay like a hawk, i might have been able to get them for less, but who knows how long it would have taken to get them at that point

sounds like a decent place. Do they handle tilting 9007s? In this journey, I did come across in gent in CT that answered questions well. He claimed all warranty was through him. He also has 55W HIDs...and they are telescopic. Considering that he spent approx 30 minutes on the phone discussing HID lamps and knew the right answers, I would consider him for my next purchase.

That typed, since I have not had any business transactions with him ...purchase at your own risk.
