OK this will not interest anyone that is a Pontiac only car enthusiast. Although my camera is very old and the pictures are crappy you now can see why I was asking about the double sided emblem foam. The 1962 badges have three metal posts and they were mounted with them instead of foam tape...old school. Oh and just like the 1962 there is one on each side. The front door IMPALA SS, and the emblems that where on the pillar behind the rear doors were removed. Red Bowtie on the grille to match the red SS on the 62' emblems.

I'm not a fan of badging either. especially ones that misrepresent. I actually removed more than was installed, so I'm giving myself a free pass.

Thanks for having a look at the bad pictures and your take on the work.

Thanks...since I owned a few old Chevy's I just got this idea in my head and had to try it. Luckily the look, especially in person, makes me very happy with the choice to make this thing my own.
I have a set of 1963 GM Restoration rear quarter panel emblems as well, but they were a little larger and a slightly different design.

Thanks David...it's really to bad that the camera is old school too. Less than 3 Megapixels and cost somewhere between 3 and 400 dollars....back in the day.

We need to have another mod day at your place again. Not sure if many people have mods to do though. Some people wanted Trannyman to come down in the spring to do some WB tuning.

I don't know what happen at the last local meet. I assume something happened at the March monthly gathering? Or were you referring to the situation before the last mod day?

oh no the march monthly meeting. I figured you heard that chris (gtpcatz on stclubgp) almost went to jail for "street racing" jesse (3800gtx) in his gxp, and then on my way home I had a blow out on my driver rear tire.

As far as the mod day Bizz asked me about it and I would love to have another mod day at my place, I guess I need to make a post. Also I think the next edwardsville meet, instead of going to a resturaunt we are going to barbeque at my place and hang out

Black sucks 99% of the time. The car wasn't clean before, LOL there is less badging than stock. You should see what an Indy SS looked like brand new. But you are right, we all like something different.

Those guys should know better and sorry to hear about the blowout. Although I believe I did hear about your tire.

I'll have to watch the local board for updates if you are going to be hosting again. And a BBQ for a monthly meeting sounds great. Much better than hanging out in a restaurant.

I love it! I dont understand why alot of the guys on here like to de-badge their cars. If I'm paying extra for an option, I'm letting everyone know it!! I like old school! Oh yeah, I never used to call em badges either. They are emblems. 'These people' have corrupted me. (to a point)

thanks! I did leave the Indianapolis Motor Speedway emblmes on the front quarter panels though. The stock rear quarter panel emblems were yellow vinyl decals that I believe all of the other 4087 Indy SS owners removed, because of ugliness.

I love it. It looks really good no your car! It's even better in person. Taking the other badging off makes it stand out while still being subtle (if that makes any sense). Screw the fact that it is an Impala as opposed to a GP. It's a s/c 3800 and one of the family!

    I say you did good.
