I just got my 9006 HID 8000K conversion kit for my 06 gp gt. However when I hooked up the ballasts the lights they wouldn't light up. My friends a mechanic and he said everything was wired correctly. Can it be that I need to order a relay harness for it in order to get enough voltage to the ballasts? I did research however and many people said they didnt need it

Check the socket plug, where your factory headlights plug into the 3 prong input for the ballast. One of my prongs wasnt touching the inside when i installed mine.

plug them in backwards and see if they light up.. if they do then the polarity was reversed, simple fix.. also if you have daytime running lights you need to disable them.. they WILL kill your ballasts

If you're running plug and play you probably have the socket polarity reversed. Do what BLKGP suggests and reverse the plug that connects to the stock headlight wiring and check to see if they work. Also, if your headlights are the DRL's make sure to click the headlight switch into the off position before shifting into gear, it will disable the DRL's. Definitely go with a relay harness anyway, it make sure the ballasts last a long time.
