i have 8000k's in my headlights, and now i want to put 3000k's in my stock fog housings. Would they be too hot for the housings? And also does anyone know what kind of bulb it would be with the kit?

I had an '01 Aurora and I put HID's in those plastic fog lights and never had any melting issues.

yea if it melts you'll end up buying new ones anyway, so its either not buy them now and possibly not buy glass ones later, or buy glass ones now. i'd prly do the same thing

You'll melt the OEMs housings, I did twice because I was trying to be a cheap ass, sound familiar? You'll need pilot housing from Autozone to make it work, or something similiar. Those take H3 blubs IIRC, your 880s won't work in those so that'll be a waste of money too. Do it right otherwise you'll pay more in the end.

Course if you want to save money and you want yellow fogs just keep your oem housing and blubs and your set...

HIDs do not actually burn hotter than halogen, and the Kelvin rating, i.e. 8000K, 3000K etc has nothing to do with the actual temperature of the lamp itself, instead it just refers to the color spectrum. So in principle, you will be fine, the only thing I don't like about stock housings is they scatter light too much for HIDs and don't provide a nice cut off, but if it's just the fog light housing, then it's not a big deal.
