i want to remove the rails on the door of the car....i was wondering if this was similar to debadging the car? can someone give me steps to take when doing this? and will i need to fix up the paint under it or just give it a good wash wax and maybe claybar?

Yeah they're mounted on. I'd like to imagine you have to take the door panel out from the inside to remove them.

Yeah you'd have to fill in the holes and paint it.
If you do ever take them off, just remember they were there for a reason, mainly to help prevent those assholes that whip there doors open from putting dents into yours.

Honestly i would say just leave them on but if you really need them off they pull off rather easy. I had to take one off the door i replaced on mine and it pulled off rather easy (just had to watch the tabs that stick into the door).
