Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
Alright folks.....got back from vacation today, and took some pics. Overall quality is very good.....since these are molded fiberglass, they will require more prep work than the OEM scoops in order to remove mold lines, minor imperfections, etc.

there is a small dimple on the front corner of each scoop that will need to be filled and sanded (most likely with resin or epoxy so that you don't have bondo cracking and falling out later)

If you're interested in a set, here's the company info....
Fiberglass Fabricators Incorporated
3500 N Hawthorne St.
Chattanooga, TN 37406
(423) 629-9722
Or email them through their ebay store eBay My World - fiberglassfabusa
I picked this set up from their ebay store, but they don't currently have any listed right now. If you contact them directly though, you should still be able to order them.
Ask for the "Dragon Scoops"
Price was $70 shipped ($50 for the scoops and $20 for shipping)
Scoops will ship 7-10 business days after payment is received....apparently, they're made on an as-ordered basis.

Good news = a member of a cruiser club that I'm in is a retired bodyman, and he filled the dimples, prepped, and primed them for me for $20 shortly after I got them.
Bad news = my financial sitution took a massive downturn in October which has prevented me from getting them painted or installed yet.
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news

What do you think? You have holes in your hood.
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
No Bio is wrong, the original thread was posted in September of 2009
The original poster stated that he hasn't gotten around to installing them due to taking a financial hit in October (of 2009)
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
Sorry to hear, I think I'm gonna pick up a set of these and put them on my car as well.

PM me with your email address, and I will send you a PDF of the template you will need to mark the location of the hood cut-outs. You will just need to find someplace with a large format printer; I believe any Staples with a business center should be able to do it.

Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
Wow, I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more intention. This is great news for what I feel are the best looking hoods for these cars. Do you know if the dimensions are identical to the factory ones?

I have had the drip trays off mine for about 2 years now. Engine does get dirty a tad faster, but not by much. You can see a lot more heat rising without them there, and there have been no adverse affects thus far even though I have no garage, so it's exposed 24/7 year round.

Can't say 100% for sure since I don't know the measurements of the factory ones. But if anybody does know the measurements, I will check these.
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
i would run them without drip trays without worrying about it in the least. water doesnt hurt the motor.
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
Dealers powerwash engines after heating them up. Only thing you'd even after to worry about is the fusebox. And I'd probably try not to wash the battery too much either. Both of which won't be affected by lack of drip trays.
Re: SE Heat Extractors....good news
maybe someone could maeke some kind of plug or when u wash it or its gonna rain?
