soo on my center console i have the classic elbow dent/cracked area where the person who had the car before musta put her elbow in the exact same spot all day everyday. I was thinking of taking the lid off the center console and re-upholstering it with white leather instead of black and then stitching a pontiac arrowhead in black, with black letters that say GTP underneath. cars burgandy, interior is black. opinions?

i think you picked a good option, i cant stand seeing people drive leaning in the middle... the steering wheel is on the left for a reason, its not in the middle!

any other opinions? I don't think it's going to be very expensive. I'm just wandering if it will look out of place. I'm thinking about doing wat i said above, but then wrapping my shifter and steering wheel in white leather to match.

You definatly have to do more than just the console. If not it will look out of place

I would be worried about white leather getting dirty also. No matter how often you clean your hands, this is still going to get dirty over time.

might be case of having to just replace the foam and match the cover to current interior..

ive got a green GP, so yeah a few more things go with it other than burgundy

ya but thatd be boring lol. I think i'm gonna go white... if it gets dirty, I know the guy who does it so it'll be cheaper to jus replace it again. Ill jus hav to be careful. If i end up doing it ill post up some pics

I originally thought it was the foam in my door that needed replacing, actually it was the plastic that supports it that was broken. Once that was fixed it worked just fine.

What I did for my dent in the center console was take the door off and take it apart. I used Black (not that the color matters) Duct tape to support the plastic pieces that were broke. There are 2 pieces, Substrate and something else. I used the tape on both sides. First in one direction, then in the 90* direction for max strength for both sides of each plastic piece. I had to line up the broken parts but it worked pretty good and gave the plastic it's strength back. Then I put in 2 pieces of wood. They were each only maybe 1/4 in thich or so and I put duct tape around them to help minimize the noise of them. I placed this wood between the two plastic pieces, put the whole thing back together. Now my center console door is pretty darn strong. It made the door a little bit tighter fit to lock and close, but it does still lock/close just fine, and I think with a little bit of time the door will be used to the shape and will work even better. I did this about 2 weeks ago or so. Now I can place my elbow or when I go to college I can pick my backpack up from the floor passenger floor, put it on the center console door and then get out of the car and pick it up. So I'd say it can support about 30+ lbs now. I'll weight my backpack to double check.
