    Why does everyone even give an f about drl's??? It's not a big deal, its a safety feaure. You can't turn your lighs on manually in our cars GET OVER IT

    No, I never did it. I am assuming it is straight forward so if it was me I would get some parts from the junk yard and just go for it.

    I disabled my DRL by pulling the fuse located on the passenger side.

    I have looked for a fuse on my 2000 GTP and cant find one solely for the DRL. Also is there any way to disable the auto light feature? Getting annoying when im sitting in a parking lot and not wanting headlights on they are on either because of DRL or auto feature.

    It's in the inside fuse panel located to the right of the glovebox once you open the glovebox. And like the first post said, if you pop the little panel off on the driver side dash (door has to be open to access, and unplug the connector, no more DRL.

    Note the bottom right fuse


    And this is where it's located

    Yea I know where the fuse panel and such is, Ill have to look again, but pretty sure last time I checked, I was pretty frustrated because I though that was my simple cure and it wasnt available or listed as a stand alone fuse on my car. and yea I know, they should all be the same, like i said I will check again to verify, Thanks for the reply, and advice on disabling the Auto lighting feature?

    If by auto feature you mean the lights coming on automatically, yes, removing the DRL fuse, or unplugging the aforementioned plug will disable them. I personally pulled the fuse and unplugged said plug, then heatshrinked (electrical tape works just fine too) the connector. Head lights will only come on when I turn the knob to on.

    No I have a separate auto lighting feature in addition to my DRLs. Basically runs of a photosensor in the dash close to windshield, so knows and turns on lights automatically when nightfall begins, separate sytem im assuming from the DRLs.

    mine's got the same thing. Unplugging the connector from the heatsink will disable them. Did for my last 3 Grand Prix's

    Cool, i will try that tomorrow, and the "heatsink" you are referring to is on the drivers side correct? Also noticed you have H1s, Do you have Halos? and if you do, could the drl function be wired to those or are they on a separate function within themselves. I know thats a lil off track, but just curious.

    No halos. My old ebay projectors did and they looked neat, but I decided against them in my retrofits. You could wire them to the DRLs, or any switched 12v source.

    watch that starting at 1:10 in and it shows you exactly where it is. You do NEED to either tape it or heatshrink it because there will still be power to it which can short out against the metal support under the dash.

    I tried doing a search but I came up empty. I have a 03 GTP that I have pulled the fuse and unpluged the heatsink. I get the clicking non stop. I need to be able to control the lights because I work on a military base. I have to turn my lights off so I can get my ID checked without blinding the guys at the gate. How can disable all that crap so I canturn my lights on and off? How do I unhook the light sensor? How do I turn off the DRLS?

    ^ That super fast clicking is from a relay box under the driver side dash (right by where you unplugged the heatsink.) Mine started doing that superfast clicking stuff so I felt around under the dash until I felt where it was clicking, and unplugged it. No more DRLs, automatic lights, or clicking.

    Some years are different, so by removing the DRL fuse, you get the dreaded clicking. I did. Yay!

    Solution: I put in a switch on the DRL module.

    To get rid of the Auto On, I tried the diode method, but that kept the lights on ALL the time.

    Well guys I found the fuse (have no idea what in the hell i was looking at before but it obviously wasnt MY car, lol) anyway, worked!! so now with new posts here, am I to expect a clicking to start or does it do it right away? Thanks for the help anyway. At some point MAchinegun would like to chat with you about your retros somewhere besides here so no one gets mad for being off track.

    Can you give me some type of description of what or where you unplugged it? Just something to give me a starting point please? Otherwise I will do the exact same thing. I can't stand not being able to control my lights. I can drive this 3,500lb car that is a projectile of death but I can't be trusted to turn the lights on? Get real......

    A relay box (about 3" x 3" x1") under the driver side dash. When the ****er starts clicking like alll hell, feel around and you can most def. feel it clicking. Unplug the connector from that and no more clicking.
