    Hello,
I have a 99 GT in Medium Gulf Blue (best color ever)
My interior is tan cloth, not the camel color.
My dash is multicolor, black steering wheel, dark brown dash bezel and lighter tan on the rest.
I was thinking about painting some parts to match the car's exterior. I've seen it done and in most cases it looks very nice. But since there is a big difference between tan and MGB, I'm not sure it would look right.
Has anyone done or seen this?
    What do you guys think?
Any pics of this setup around?

Also what do you think of rims painted to match the car? It looks great on white cars. Anybody have a MGB GP with painter matching rims?

    Thanks

I'm going to have to be one to say no. I too LOVE the medium gulf blue, but you should resist bringing it into the car. It might look good on one or two things, but then you start looking around for every little piece of plastic you can pull out and paint, and you end up with something really gay looking. And a headache from paint fumes. If you want to make a change in the interior, try changing to new seats, new carpet color, etc.

I have to agree, have to be carefull to not over do it. I thought of doing my interior. I have since changed my mind. I still plan on doing the interior but not the same color as the car. As for the fumes, if you do it right you'll never smell any fumes. remove the parts, prep them, paint them, clear them and cure them.

    Thanks for the advise guys.
I was thinking the same, only a couple of things painted blue, nothing on the doors.
Pretty much the same as the picture Ferguson has in that link but in my color of course. Just the dash trim and the arm rest.
As far as the wheels, maybe I'll go silver or something along those lines.
I want to keep the rest of the interior the same tan color scheme. I'm looking for either good quality 2 tone seat covers or seats.
The engine bay is another story. Will be going with silver and MGB in the bay.

Yeah, you want to set your car apart but not to over do it. Its hard to say when. I spend a lot of time looking at other cars before I make my choice.
