I have a 97 gt that didn't come with a factory spoiler but i found one at the local yard for $15 bucks. My question is how do I install it correctly, any help would be appreciated, thanx.

Well - to be honest with you - it's easier - and less likely to leak - if you just swap out the trunk lid entirely. You also won't run the risk of not getting the placement correct and it not looking quite like you'd hoped. Just a helpful hint.

honestly I don't think it would be that hard to install. From what i've seen, the non spoilered GPs still had the cutout in the lid frame for the spoiler holes. Look at the decklid closely when you pull it off, you'll see what I MEAN. IIRC, the holes were drilled in the center of the holes in the frame. You may need to make a couple of the holes bigger but it should be straight forward.

Make sure to get the studs/nuts for the spoiler too, it'll make installing it easier too.

I like that slp one myself but it's for my wife pretty much not me and she likes the factory wing.
