I was wondering the same thing, couldn't remember how they were and I didn't take pictures of that area when I removed the bolt. Then I looked and couldn't see where it would matter which direction they came in from (interference with anything), so I just kept them that way.

It "shouldn't" matter - but I think the bolt head is to the outside.
Thanks for all of the updates - you've done an amazing job so far, that car is going to be like new...or better.

It's out of hiding and actually came out...
Woo Hoo, after a month I was able to drive it out of the garage. Not that I would considerate it road worthy yet. I have to check but I think I have a brake line leaking in the rear, figure it has to be the crossover line going from the driver side to passenger side. Well, I guess I can't complain after doing 6 or 7 flares.
It was early evening so not much in the way of sun. Like the stance, already rolled the rear quarters, hopefully will set up an appointment for the alignment, already put in the shortened dog bones...

Re: The transformation has begun...
alright...you're talking about all the parts and such, but how much has this project cost you so far? and how much was the car in the first place? I'm curious as I'm looking to work on my gp's suspension and such...

Including the price of the car, I did a rough estimate - probably looking at around $5K... I would say most of that would be in wheels/tires, strut/spring setup, than the brakes..
Re: The transformation has begun...
I'm gonna be replacing my struts/springs on my car fairly soon.
Could you post a link or recommend a good set for me?
Re: The transformation has begun...
i think it would be a ton of help to every one if you could put together a sticky for all the suspension parts and where you got them. my 02 Gp needs struts and bushings id like to know where you got your parts my cars ready for a major overhaul.
Re: The transformation has begun...

Springs are B&G's, and yes they are Altezza's but gun metal. Not sure if there is much difference between those and some that I am seeing on ebay with a smoke finish...
Well, this phase of the project is complete...
This is probably my last post on this phase of the "transformation", after getting an alignment done was able to drive the car. Had both front and rear struts set at 3. Back seemed ok, front seemed a little bone jarring, set that back to 2 and I like it better. Had only one problem with the alignment, that was with the outer tie rods, the stud was too long and had to use 2 washers as spacers so a cotter pin would still go in the castle nut. Other than that, everything went without a hitch.
Did a quick wash to remove the handprints and dust, started last night claying it, finished up this morning and put a coat of wax on it. It was sunny out so decided to take a couple of pictures. Next up is the AED spoiler, remove the rear deck and finish my tinting, also a pair of projectors, headlights are in really sad shape.

Looked at the exhaust, but it appears that's how it's going to stay with the slight tilt of the tips, would of been nice had they not been welded on. Clay bar did wonders with the finish, didn't take as long as I thought.
Re: The transformation has begun...
i really love the stance of that thing!
the tip issue kinda sucks but its livable.
Re: The transformation has begun...
looks good all cleaned up. what tips are those?
Re: The transformation has begun...
i was never a fan of those taillights but thats my opinion. but other that that i love the car
