rmmm...Well I claybar it because it pretty much strips it down to the clear coat and then I re-wax it. Even if its new...I done it about 3months after I had it and in Feb when it was warm and then again. But since it was WAY warmer and going to STAY warm I put 2 coats of wax on it. I guess its just personal preference. And I get bored! LOL

EDIT: Also, not sure if you have ever used one but try hand washing your car then rub it...yo uwill feel all kinds of nasty stuff! You could try to RUB it off and then scratch ur paint. Or you could claybar it......soooo I do that! I did it to my 06Cobalt and my paint was like NEW when I traded it in.

You would be very surprised at what kind of crap is in the paint on a new car. Rail dust, other grime from transporting.

i have clay bar'd my car, but i didnt think a nearly brand new car would have enough crap in the paint to justify doing it. i might not even wax my car this year because ive got so much paint chipping going on with my bumpers/hood. may not be worth it.
