Hey everyone, I'm shaving my trunk lock, and also have a spare trunk with wing, I was wondering does anyone have any cool ideas to mod the factory wing or trunk that I could do so that it looks cooler and stands out, let me know, I'm open to anything.

Not much you can do with the stock one unless you want to paint it another color or add racing stripes. Would suggest using hose gaskets to lift it off the trunk lid before it starts to rust under there. Here are some other options:

    SD

    SLP Gen I

    SLP Gen II

Personally I'm particular to Gen I

debadged, clear corners, 20% tint, tinted tails, vibrant performance tips, red painted calipers, Fig. grills, autometer guages, PFYC 3 pod A pillar, SLP CAI, 2.5" DP, SD Hood, SD front air damn, Gen I spoiler, 17X8 Borbet Type M rims, engine upgrades soon!

yeah those are nice spoilers but all my money is going to my final audio system, so I was trying to figure a way to alter or hack or do whatever I could to make the factory stuff look cooler

You cant really make the factory stuff look "cooler" for say...you can make it look different though.

Examples, I have seen some mount a 3rd brake light, such as an LED light bar inside the spoiler before and have it flush mounted.

I have also seen some take the stock spoiler and put it on spacers, and elevating the spoiler off the trunk lid...like with 3-4" hollow poles/rods. don't know about the last one honestly. Its different for sure.

yeah I thought about the third brake light ideas, which they still might be a good possibility, has anyone ever tried just going without the spoiler? or does it look too weird?

Sure...the GP SE's had no spoilers from the get go...then I think GM started cleaning house, and started adding them onto that model as well as a GT/GTP front bumper cover. The rear bumper and lower side skirts stayed off though.

I think our cars look really wrong with no spoiler on them. Just ugly IMO.

shave the spoiler! i'd maybe have it photoshopped first!

I am half way looking for another spoiler like mine so I can make it taller, another 3 inches would make it look more like a NASCAR spoiler...

Def not enough choices for our cars. I went with an 03 limited edition spoiler to be different and rare.

Hey did that Special Edition Spoiler fit to your factory spoilet screwholes or did you hafta drill/plug the pre-existing ones on your trunk lid? That thing looks friggin' nice, it's exactly the kinda thing I've been lookin' for (again, because there's not a lot out there for a factory fit to our cars)

Not sure who you are asking since no Special Edition spoilers have been posted that I see in this thread. As far as fit for a SE spoiler, yes you would have to redrill and fill the stock holes or buy it complete with the trunk.

The SLP Gen II (SE look-alike) uses the stock holes or is supposed to, but they don't always line up exactly.

Maybe you were asking me. I put the Limited Edition spoiler on mine. I didnt have to drill new holes but I did have to get the trunk painted because the stock spoiler cut into the paint pretty good. Probably more as a result from my stereo system vibrating it than normal wear lol. I have heard some people getting away with buffing out the cut marks.

This is the only GP I've ever seen with a modified stock spoiler:

As for no spoiler, I always hated it because I only saw it on 4 door SEs and didn't like the looks of those cars. My car actually sat without one for a bit and it actually grew on me. The Limited Edition spoiler is my favorite and I don't plan on running without a spoiler, but here is a couple pics while it was in storage after I sold my SLP Gen 1.

Don't worry, like it says that is from over a year ago when I was storing it in a warehouse after I sold the SLP and was installing my new wheels. I'll be getting another LE spoiler when I get the chance.
