Hello, I am having a hard time to find information, or a YouTube video on this. I bought a used 2002 grand prix, to use for parts, and I am going to be swapping out the doors and hood on the cars.

I am trying to find a video or information on removing and replacing the doors. Are there just the 4 bolts and wires to be removed to do this??
I know I need help to remove the door as it's heavy, but trying to find information on this is impossible.

Do I have to make any adjustments, or once I put the bolts back in, things will be fine and will line up no problem?

Any comments or help would be great, thank you.

If you don't swap locks your key won't work. If you are strong you won't need help to hang the door. If the door doesn't line up you'll have to adjust it. Leave hinges in place and just swap the door shell, it will probably fit fine.

Thanks for the information. I will just carry 2 sets of keys. I don't know how hard or easy it is to change the locks in the doors. but tried to remove the trunk lock and it didnt' work out when I took it off the parts car I have. So I am using the parts car key already, so I am good. The drivers door sags, so will remove the hinge as well.. Thank you.

the hinges are pinned pretty well so there won't be a lot of fine adjusting needed. while you have the door off, take off the hinges and install a hinge bushing kit. my drivers hinge droops a little bit and is starting to rub, need to put a new hinge or a bushing kit on it.

So to put on new hinges, is there much play to adjust it, to align the door? Just wondering. thanks.

When you have your replacement hinge in hand, you will see how the adjustment works. Unlike old cars where hinges can scoot around a lot, the FWD GP does not have a whole bunch of play. I don't think theres any adjustment where door and hinge meet. But where hinge meets car, just the big bolts hold it on. The little bolt holds an offset cone to the hinge that fits another hole in the body. Works like a cam... leave the other bolts a little loose and turn the small bolt to set the hinge's position in relation to the body.
