in the distant future if I ever chose to build a turbo grand prix, is there a way to use my phenolic intercooler? could I just add another heat exchanger in front of the existing heat exchanger?

You can run an a2w turbo core, keep your phenolic core under the blocked off m90.
You can keep your phenolic core and run an a2a IC for the turbo.
In my case i have both the w2a cores plumbed to one large fmhe(frozenboost type 101)
You can run whatever you can fit. I imagine it would be quite difficult to fit an a2a and a fmhe though.
    sky is the limit sir

I was thinking about 2 heat exchangers, one for the a2a turbo intercooler and the other for the a2w intercooler

why over complicate things? screw an a2w on a turbo setup...

I imagine if you remove a good chunk of the front bumper support, you could fit both. Id say in the end though, the small amount of extra cooling you get wouldnt be worthwhile. you would likely see more gains from ANY other UIM besides for a blocked off m90

I was under the impression that a2w intercoolers are more efficient

yeahhhhh not the ones under the blower. kinda like a bandaid on an axe wound

a proper beefy a2w turbo core is something different entirely. Simplicity and effectiveness of an a2a=win

only reason i have 2 cores is for twincharging retardedness

are you using that frozenboost a2w heat exchanger for your turbo?

    yes.
    more complicated yes also.

its bad enough getting a car to run properly and if your lucky reliably lol i dont want to be like jayroca and tear sh1t apart every other week. so the easier and simple a setup is the better imo. just my 2 cents or you can go nuts and fight it the whole way and end up spending more than a well sorted simple setup.... again just my thoughts and method to the madness.

both my sc a2w core and turbo a2w core are cooled by the single type 101 fmhe

again, the only reason i have my setup the way it is, necessity.

do you detail how you hook up your turbo and intercooler to the same heat exchanger in your build thread?

ummmmmm i cant remember honestly lol. been a while since i read it. i used a couple heater hose Tees.

whether the flow is equal to both cores, and the one fmhe is enough to cool, is debatable.(150* iat in lim under wot pulls)

she made 505 on the dyno so something is working. e85

I'm a little confused on how you used an air to water heat exchanger to cool the turbo

same principle as the core under the blowerrrrrrr

Its all good man. I'm sure others will chime in more about effective methods etc etc.
