I was just throwing the idea around of saving up for a turbo kit if it were cheap enough before pulling the trigger on a topswap, but that isn't really realistic.

If your goal is only 275'ish horse than a TS is cool but you may end up in the same boat I hides thinking that a turbo is too much. An upgraded TS is just as much money (if not more) when you consider all the extra parts and services you have to buy. If you start porting things, upgrading intake, cam, then you have labor to install the cam. I'm telling you, a turbo is scary/sticker shock but better in the long run! Bang for the buck is MUCH better with turbo!

You can build a turbo kit for cheaper than 1500-2k. Buy used pieces here and there. Use an hx40 or 35.

Would anyone be able to point me towards a thread containing a sort of short list of things needed for a turbo? Obviously there's the turbo sticky but that all has specific new bought turbo kits shown.

Also, is running an unintercooled turbo set up feasible? I'm not going for like 500 wheel here. Intercooling it would be an eventual sort of thing.

i would shy away from an unintercooled setup. FMIC kits are super cheap on ebay or frozenboost .com and will do just fine.

with prices nowadays, you should be able to piece a kit together for a damn decent price, as others have said. I put mine together for ~1800. Granted i fabbed a downpipe myself. I swear i saw a complete cartuning kit recently on the forums for like 15 hund....

Ah but that's not a turbo. It's cool but eh. I don't think it would work in the Bonne without some work.

That's what I'm thinking too. I have a friend who will build me my trans if I bring him the parts and beer. lol So I'm waiting till it's gonna get bad. Trans seems pretty healthy currently.

No kidding. Probably get that done around Christmas. Gonna need to get an input shaft, clutches, and possibly the chain. We will see. Modding cars is 90% research. XD

Figure I'd start with that Plog for sale. Once clubgp acknowledges my existence that is. At least I could throw that on right away.

Digging this back up cause I have a question not entirely worth starting a new thread over. I've searched around a bit and am wondering what are my options as a far a turbo that will mate to a CarTuning turbo kit. Looking to get a less expensive and/or used turbo but not exactly something that is trash. As the Bonne is gonna see DD duty.

Just trying to clear up some confusion.

    Thanks.
