Need an exhaust from 3" DP back. Should I get the zzp stainless 3" system or do you think it better to have a muffler shop build a custom exhaust? What mufflers do you like/dislike? Turbo car, catted (for now) I don't mind loud, but don't like tons of drone or to ricey sounding. Prefer a deep tone to crisp crackle type sound if that makes any sense. Not sure how crisp a 3800 can be vs a cammed v8.. but I think you probably know what I am getting at. Prefer stainless as I live in upstate NY and the weather here, even if I only drive it in the nicer weather seems to take a toll on mild steel. Thanks for your opinions!

And yes, my "TOG" DP is 3" outlet, doesn't neck down to factory size currently but has similar 2 bolt flange.

Anyone have the Corsa system? Unfortunately seems to be 2.5" only.. how does it sound if anyone does? Perhaps I can get those mufflers w/my custom system if I go that route.

I haven't heard anything bad about zzp's. I have heard it is LOUD though. Not in a bad way from what I can tell. In the end it's your car and your decision though.

Mufflers also vary depending on setups. Could sound good on one car, but may not sound the same on another car with different mods. Don't forget that lol

i built my exhaust from scratch with an ebay big fatty fat resonator and two generic magnaflows(straight thru). I think it sounds better than it ever has. all 3"

i can link you all the parts and site for the builders pipe kit. all in all i think i spent 150 on pipe, 120 on the muffs and res, and 100 on tips.

some pics on p6 of my twincharge thread.

Any sound clips by any chance classy?

My biggest fear with going custom is having someone do a ****ty job. I am told one shop near me does good work, but haven't seen anything from them and I am a tad anal so I want to make sure its going to be clean, smooth and sound good.

I plan on doing a similar setup to what Dan did. Seems to be the cheaper route and has the same results.

For anyone else that chimes in on this thread remember he is running a turbo which by itself cuts down on how loud the exhaust it big time. It's the reason Dan was able to run a res with 2 straight through mufflers and the car still sounds nice and quiet. Stainless, very free flowing, cheap, and a good sound....that's the way to go.

My exhaust is actually aluminized, not ss. The res and muffs are ss, but i figured since i dont drive the car in the winter, the aluminized pipe would be sufficient(and way cheaper) plus mig welding ss is a pain in the balls!! lol
    linkys:
http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.c...its/Categories < pipe. I bought the "expanded" kit, cuz its way easier to weld slip fit joints than butt welding

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-St...ccdd00&vxp=mtr <mufflers

i have an OBX resonator, cant remember what size...

unfortunately i dont have a sound clip for ya, and my timing chain broke so i got nothin!
